There is a very old cartoon bit where two characters stand in the woods arguing back and forth about what they are hunting. Rabbit season. Duck season. Rabbit season. It goes on until somebody gets outsmarted. We have our own version of that argument every year around here, except there is nothing to argue about, because the answer is always the same. It is boot season. It has been boot season since the first cool morning and we are not taking questions.
The boots have arrived and so have the coats, and the floor looks completely different than it did a month ago. But before you grab the first pair you see, we want to give you one thing to think about, because it is the difference between a good purchase and a piece you reach for constantly.
Color. Specifically, your colors. Most of us have a handful of shades that make us look rested and lit from the inside, and a handful that make us look like we did not sleep. It is not about being trendy. It is about which undertones sit well next to your skin. Once you know yours, shopping gets so much faster, because you can walk past two thirds of a rack without a second thought.
The good news is this season is generous no matter where you land. If your colors run warm and rich, fall is built for you, so lean into rust, camel, olive, chocolate and mustard. If they run cool and deep, this is your moment for true burgundy, charcoal, deep navy, emerald and crisp white. If they run warm and light, look for soft camel, golden tan, ivory and a warmed up rust instead of heavy brown. And if they run cool and soft, you want plum, cocoa, dove grey, muted burgundy and soft navy rather than anything stark.
Here is where boots come in. A boot is the piece you will wear the most and replace the least, so it is worth getting the color right. Black is not automatically the answer. A warm brown or a camel boot does more for a warm palette than black ever will, and it goes with far more than people expect. If you are cooler toned, a rich espresso or a true black is going to look sharper on you than a golden tan.

And while you are thinking about your closet, think about what is not working in it. The pieces in colors that never felt right, the boots you have not touched in two seasons. Bring them to us. We buy fall and winter right now, and we pay cash on the spot, or 20% more in store credit if you would rather put it toward something that actually suits you.
That is the whole idea. Everything here is priced around 70% off retail, new arrivals land daily, and almost all of it is one of a kind. Find your colors, then come find your boots.
